process, prone to human error. Many transportation brokers leave the task up to
their dispatchers or have a staff of personnel dedicated to keeping current records
on file.
Registry Monitoring Insurance Services, Inc. (RMIS) provides brokers, as well as freight
forwarders and manufacturers, an alternative to this daily task. By outsourcing
your carrier insurance needs to RMIS, your company

RMIS tracks certificates of insurance information
on over 30,000 carriers. All insurance information is real-time information, which
enables your company to access any changes in your carrier's insurance coverage immediately.

We provide our members with daily status reports on their registered carriers through
the following methods:

How It Works
New members provide a list of carriers, along with contact information, or
simply send us a copy of each Certificate of Insurance. We contact each carrier’s
insurance provider, obtain a current Certificate of Insurance and become listed
as a Certificate Holder. Depending on the application, our clients have immediate
access to the insurance status of each carrier enrolled and any changes in coverage
that may occur. Prior to the expiration of each coverage, we contact the insurance
provider and request a new Certificate. If no certificate is received, follow-up
requests are sent, along with phone calls to the insurance representative of
the transportation carrier. In some instances, our clients may be asked to
assist us with non-compliant carriers.
Information Captured directly from the Certificate includes: Coverage Type, Policy
Number, Limit of Coverage, Effective Date, Expiration Date, Insurance Producer and
Underwriter.
Each Certificate of Insurance is scanned and a copy can be obtained by our clients
via fax, e-mail or API Application.
